The hockey ball has a circumference between 22.4 and 23.5 cm both in the field and in the hall. It weighs between 156 and 163 g and must be spherical. According to the rules of the DHB , the ball can be made of any material. Usually, however, a soft, flexible plastic is used. Also, the ball shouldn't bounce. The color is arbitrary, in field hockey mostly white and in indoor hockey often yellow or orange. The color of the ball should be clearly different from the playing field. The surface of the ball is smooth, but embedded knobs are also allowed.
