Hodja Abd-ad-Darun mausoleum

The Hodscha-Abd-ad-Darun-Mausoleum ( Uzbek Abdidarun majmuasi ) is a building in Samarkand .

The elegant ensemble is a pilgrimage destination with a minaret , house and iwan (overnight place for pilgrims). It was built on the grave of the legal scholar ( Hodscha ) Abd ad-Darun, who was related to Caliph Othman , in the 9th century. The complex is located in the area of ​​the cemetery, in the south-eastern part of Samarkand . It is said that the doors of the mausoleum were decorated with images of tigers, even earlier than the doors of the Scher-Dor madrasah .
