Hof Capelle
The Hof Capelle is a small settlement in the district of Beltershausen-Frauenberg in the municipality of Ebsdorfergrund in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district . The settlement goes back to the foundation of the Teutonic Order .
history
A chapel, which existed until 1872, was intended to commemorate the murder of Konrad von Marburg that occurred there in 1233 . The chapel was probably first built around 1248 to commemorate the murder (documented mention: “provisor chapel, qua recubat magister Cunradus predicator” in 1250). Today there is only one memorial stone left, the "Konrad-von-Marburg-Stein", but its location does not necessarily mark the exact scene of the crime.
Since 1358 at the latest, there has also been a Teutonic Order estate. In 1525, during the introduction of the Reformation in Hesse, the estate was divided into two parts and is therefore at least partially in private ownership.
This resulted in the current settlement of agricultural and residential buildings in private ownership. The settlement lies at 270 m above sea level. NN and in 2007 had about 20 inhabitants.
