Hohen-Heerde

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

High-Heerde was a village in the Altmark and was already in the Middle Ages to the deserted village .

location

The village was located south of the small elevation Hohes Feld between Breitenfeld (Gardelegen) , Jeggau and Quarnebeck . The village of Sieden-Heerde , which had also become desolate, was nearby .

history

The first written mention of the village comes from the year 1472. At this time Hohen-Heerde was already desolate. It is believed that the place was abandoned in the 14th century. The name suggests a German settlement. Presumably in the middle of the 15th century Ludolf von Alvensleben acquired the desolate district. With the deed dated January 1, 1472, he then sold rye Hohen-Heerde and the neighboring, also already deserted Sieden-Heerde to Ludolf von dem Knesenbneck and his sons Werner and Meinhard for 70 Rhenish guilders and three Wispel . However, he was granted a right of repurchase. Apparently this was also exercised, at least sold on March 31, 1521 Knight Ludolf von Alvensleben , Busses son, hoegen und sieden Heeren, the evidence is between Bredefeld and Jeggau to the Dambeck Monastery for 400 Salzwedler Marks .

The captain of the Altmark Levin von der Schulenburg acknowledged Elias von Alvensleben on January 26, 1565 for an amount of 6 thalers as interest for a sum of 100 thalers with the remark of Hohen-Herde . It is speculated that the borrowed money had to do with the construction of a sheep farm , which stood on the site of the former village from around this time. The Heeren sheep farm then existed at least until 1804. At that time, 10 residents were still registered. Soon after, however, the sheep farm was given up.

At the beginning of the 20th century it was considered possible that a sheepfold located about one kilometer southeast of Quarnebeck could still go back to this sheep farm.
