High stone (Bad Elster)

The Hohe Stein is a solitary rock near Bärenloh, a district of Bad Elster in the Saxon Vogtland district . It consists of phyllite ( Greek phyllon "leaf"), a crystalline, thin slate of the epizone . The rock consists mainly of quartz and finely flaked muscovite .

The Hohe Stein is located in the district of Adorf on the Westring hiking trail (also known as the D-Weg) near the Waldcafé. The area around Bad Elster belongs to the Elster Mountains .
