High genist

Hohes Genist , also Ascension Day (Christi) was a mine in the Johanngeorgenstadt mountain area in the Saxon Ore Mountains , which already existed before Johanngeorgenstadt was founded in 1654. After the dismantling had come to a standstill, a new mutation took place in 1672 under the name Ascension . After only a short period of operation, the mine was shut down, but was resumed again in 1680 under the name Hohes Genist und Himmelfahrt .
