For the roofing there are two different types of hollow pans: Long section pans for Vorschnittdeckung and short cut pans for meats coverage.

Hollow pans with short cuts are used to cover the cuts. The brick floor plan is rectangular and the bricks lie four times on top of each other at the four-brick corner. The maximum lath spacing results from the length of the pantile - the height overlap for the existing roof pitch.

Hollow pans with a long cut are used for pre-cut coverage. The bricks have the shape of a rectangle, but with two diagonally opposite corners cut off at an angle, so that they actually have six corners. At the four-brick corner, the bricks lie on top of each other three times: at the bottom there is a full corner, above two cut corners meet, and at the top there is another full corner. The height overlap is given by the cut. The height overlap is at least 7 cm. Accordingly, the cutting length of the pre-cut pan is at least 7 cm.

In the case of large rafter lengths in connection with a low roof pitch , the cut cover is preferable. The side cover depends on the width and shape of the brim and the type of cover, whereby a sufficient cover width according to the specified or determined cover width must be maintained.
