The Holconians were one of the most influential and wealthy families in the city of Pompeii in the last two centuries of its existence. Above all, three representatives of the family have become known:

The Holcinii had become rich as winegrowers in the Pompeian region. Even a grape variety was named after them. They distributed their products as far as Rome . In addition to viticulture, they also ran a brick factory, in which amphorae and bricks were alternately produced depending on the season .

Robert Harris has the Duumvir of 79 appear as Marcus Holconius in his novel Pompeii .
