Holger Arpe

Holger Arpe is a former German basketball player .

career

The 2.05 meter long wing and inside player rose in 1979 with the Hamburg TB in the basketball league and played with the Hanseatic League in the highest German league in 1979/80 and 1980/81. Then he moved within the Bundesliga to BSC Saturn Cologne . In 1981 and 1982 he became German champions with the BSC Saturn. He stayed in Cologne until 1984 and moved to Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen for the 1984/85 season . In 1985 and 1986 Arpe won other German championship titles with Leverkusen and also competed with the team in the European Cup.

In his career, Arpe scored a total of 2240 points in the Bundesliga.

National team

In 1980 Arpe took part in the elimination round for the Olympic Games with the German national team, in 1981 he was part of the FRG squad for the European Championship finals and scored 6.3 points per game over the course of the tournament, and in 1986 he took part in the World Cup with the national team. At the World Cup, Arpe scored an average of 8.3 points per match.

Between 1980 and 1986 he made a total of 93 A-internationals for Germany.
