Holger Begtrup

Holger Christian Begtrup (born June 28, 1859 in Birkerød ; † May 5, 1937 ) was a Danish Protestant theologian and university professor.

Life

Begtrup was the son of the pastor EW Begtrup and his wife Elisabeth, geb. Mathiesen. From 1876 he visited the metropolitan cities in the Copenhagen district of Nørrebro . In 1880 he began studying Protestant theology and was awarded the Gold Medal Prisopgave of the University of Copenhagen in 1883 . In 1895 he founded the Frederiksborg Adult Education Center , which under his direction became the largest in the country.
