Holger Lange

Holger Lange (* 1960 ) is a German politician of the SPD and as a political official he was from March 24, 2011 to April 30, 2015 State Councilor for the Environment and Energy in the Authority for Urban Development and Environment (BSU) in Hamburg. Since August 1, 2015, he has been the commercial director of Stadtreinigung Hamburg.

life and career

Holger Lange is a trained banker and lawyer. Since 1990 Holger Lange has held various administrative positions - first in the environmental authority and later in the tax authority - of the city of Hamburg. Among other things, he was the personal advisor to the then Environment Senator Jörg Kuhbier and from 1997 to 2001 head of the office of the former Mayor Ortwin Runde and from 2006 to 2009 head of the Federalism Reform II project group (Senate Chancellery and financial authority). From 2009 until his appointment to the State Council, he was head of the Office for Nature and Resource Conservation at the BSU.

In his capacity as State Councilor of the BSU, Holger Lange was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Germany's largest municipal drinking water supply and wastewater disposal company Hamburg Wasser and thus also of its subsidiary Hamburg Energie GmbH, which was founded in 2009 under the black and green Senate of Beust III , around Hamburg To supply renewable energies . Furthermore, Holger Lange was chairman of the supervisory board of Stadtreinigung Hamburg . He was also a member of the supervisory boards of Hamburger Hochbahn AG and Vattenfall Wärme Hamburg GmbH as well as chairman of the board of trustees of the Hamburg Climate Protection Foundation, Umweltzentrum Karlshöhe.
