Jean Bonfils
Jean Marie Louis Bonfils SMA (born February 15, 1930 in Montpellier ) is Bishop Emeritus of Nice .
Life
Jean Marie Louis Bonfils joined the religious order of the Society of Africa Missions and was ordained a priest on December 7, 1954 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Viviers on November 28, 1992 . The Archbishop of Lyon , Albert Cardinal Decourtray , donated him episcopal ordination on January 10, 1993 ; Co- consecrators were Jean Hermil , Bishop Emeritus of Viviers, and Hubert Marie Pierre Dominique Barbier , Bishop of Annecy .
On August 28, 1998, he was appointed Bishop of Nice. On March 28, 2005, John Paul II accepted his resignation due to reasons of age.
