Holger Smit

Holger Smit (* 1956 ) is a former German basketball player .

Life

Smit rose in 1985 with the Oldenburg TB from the 2nd basketball league to the basketball league , but missed the league in the highest German league with the OTB in the 1985/86 season. 1987 succeeded the Bundesliga return, again it was a one-year guest appearance for Smit and his Oldenburg, since at the end of the season 1987/88 the relegation from the Bundesliga was again. Smit played for the OTB for a total of 18 years until 1991 and appeared in 697 games. Among other things, Smit was world champion in the over 55 competition class in the senior men's area.

Smit's daughter Nadine became a handball player in the Bundesliga, son Kevin made the leap into professional basketball.
