Logging costs

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The timber harvesting costs are calculated from the costs of felling and processing trees, as well as bringing them to a passable path. The so-called additional timber harvest costs (e.g. recording the cutting conditions and measuring) are also included. Debarking costs are not taken into account, as the wood is traditionally sold “without barking and moving”.

The timber harvesting costs are usually converted into euros / solid cubic meters and are required for calculating the income from timber harvesting measures. Prices can vary greatly depending on the terrain, tree species and average trunk diameter.

Cost examples according to the forest evaluation guidelines (extreme examples):

  • Pine , simple harvest cost level, breast height diameter 60 cm: 10.68 EUR / Fm
  • Oak , heavy harvest cost, chest height diameter 16 cm: 54.42 EUR / Fm
