The HOMAG GmbH (2016: Homag woodworking GmbH ) is part of the Homag Group . The company has its headquarters in Schopfloch in the Black Forest .

history

Gerhard Schuler and Eugen Hornberger founded Hornberger Maschinenbaugesellschaft OHG on January 1, 1960 , from which today's subsidiary of the Homag Group emerged.

In October 2010, the company's legal form was changed from an AG to a GmbH .

The company produces machines , cells and systems for woodworking . In 1962, the two founders brought the first edge banding machine onto the market, which was able to glue the edges onto the narrow surfaces of panel-shaped workpieces (mostly chipboard from furniture parts) in a continuous process and to process them immediately in the same pass. This led to a considerable reduction in the process time for edge banding.

According to its own information, the company is the world market leader in the field of edgebander production. Surface milling and edge milling were just as much a part of the company's range of machines as machining centers and conveyor technology for woodworking.
