history
On January 1, 1960 Eugen Hornberger and Gerhard Schuler founded the Hornberger Maschinenbaugesellschaft OHG . In 1962, the development of what was then the first edge banding machine based on the hot-cold process began. In the following years the companies Friz (1976), Weeke (1986), Holzma (1987), Ligamtech (1990) and Bargstedt (1995) were taken over.
The Hornberger Maschinenbaugesellschaft OHG was renamed to Homag Maschinenbau AG in 1987 , which merged with the IMA Group , Lübbecke , to form Lignum Technologie AG in 1999 and was renamed to Homag Group AG in 2004. She acquired a stake in Benz in 2009 and took over Stiles in 2014. After the Hornberger family withdrew as shareholders, the company went public as planned for 20 years. After the initial listing in the Prime Standard on July 13, 2007 , it was admitted to the SDAX on October 1, 2007 , but was relegated to the Prime Standard on June 20, 2011.
In October 2014, the majority of the HOMAG Group was taken over by the Dürr Group , and in March 2015 a control and profit and loss transfer agreement was concluded between these two companies . From July 17, 2015 to March 1, 2017, HOMAG Group AG was listed in the Entry Standard stock exchange segment .
The Homag Group is the innovation and world market leader in machines and systems for format and edge processing. In 2017, the previous companies were given up, and the individual branches and products that had previously appeared under their own name only appear under the name Homag. Homag expanded not only through takeovers, but also through the establishment of new companies, some with their own production: 1977 Homag Machinery Sao Paulo, 1994 Homag Shanghai, 2004 Homag Środa, 2001 Homag Machinery Bangalore.
