homegate.ch is a real estate marketplace for Switzerland. The site is operated by Homegate AG with headquarters in Zurich and additional locations in Lausanne and Berlin. Homegate AG belongs to the Swiss media group Tamedia AG, another shareholder is Zürcher Kantonalbank . In addition, Homegate AG is present in the market with its wholly-owned subsidiary ImmoStreet SA .

history

homegate.ch was originally developed from the IBM real estate management software Tereal, which was used by most real estate administrations in Switzerland at the end of the 1990s, when they increasingly expressed the desire to be able to publish their real estate online.

After IBM stopped developing Tereal, the marketplace known under the name Immopool.ch was further developed by the former project managers at IBM and sold to Zürcher Kantonalbank in 2001 . This subsequently changed the brand from Immopool to Homegate and later sold the company to Tamedia in two steps. In March 2008, they increased their previous participation from 16.5 percent to 45.0 percent and later to 90%. The remaining 10 percent stayed with ZKB.

Since June 2013 homegate.ch has been offering the first independently manageable online mortgage in cooperation with Zürcher Kantonalbank.

With 9 million visitors, over 200 million page views per month and over 100,000 current real estate offers, homegate.ch is Switzerland's largest real estate marketplace.
