The Honda MH02 was an experimental aircraft to research a new design of the engine arrangement and the use of composite materials for a business aircraft.

History and construction

The Honda MH02 was built by Honda in partnership with Mississippi State University . The prototype was completed in 1992, on March 5, 1993 it made its first flight with the US civil registration N3079N . The MH02 was never intended for production, but was nonetheless the first small business jet that was mostly made of composite material and was flown. From 1996 onwards, the Honda MH02 completed over 170 hours of test flight. Apart from the unusual arrangement as a shoulder wing with the engines on the wing top, the aircraft had a T-tail unit and the wings themselves had a negative sweep . The aircraft was deregistered in 1998 and exported to Japan. The Honda MH02 served as the basis for the development of the Honda HA-420 .
