The Hongzhou kiln ( Chinese  洪州 窑 , Pinyin Hóngzhōu yáo , English Hongzhou kiln ), also Fengcheng kiln ( 丰城 窑 , Fēngchéng yáo , English Fengcheng kiln ), was a ceramic kiln in Jiangxi , whose heyday in the time of the Tang -Dynasty fell. It is considered one of the six famous celadon kilns of the Tang Dynasty , which Lu Yu already reported in his book on tea . He was already using saggar capsules ( 烧 箱 , shāoxiāng , English saggar ) in the time of the Western Jin Dynasty .

The archaeological site is located in the area of ​​the city of Fengcheng , which belongs to the administrative area of ​​the prefecture -level city of Yichun in the northwest of the Chinese province of Jiangxi .

The site has been prepared by the Institute of cultural relics and archeology of Jiangxi Province , the Archaeological Institute of Peking University and the City Museum Fengcheng investigated.

An examination of its shards revealed that the furnace was in production from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Five Dynasties .

The Hongzhou Kiln site has been on the List of Monuments of the People's Republic of China (4-42) since 1996 .
