Hoppelpoppel (dessert)

Hoppelpoppel is a dessert made from sweet cream , egg yolks and sugar , which are whipped creamy in a water bath. Hoppelpoppel is flavored with arrack , vanilla and nutmeg, depending on the recipe . There are hot and cold versions, both of which are eaten for dessert .

In northern and eastern Germany, the term can also refer to a milkshake .
