Hora (nymph)
In Greek mythology, Hora is a nymph who fathered their son Kolaxes with Zeus . She is said to have lived in Scythia at the confluence of the Tibisis in the Marisos in the shape of a half serpent .
This descent of Kolaxes, reproduced by Gaius Valerius Flaccus , is probably based on a combination of two descent in Herodotus : According to one, Kolaxes is one of three sons of Targitaos , who in turn comes from Zeus and a nymph , according to the other he is one of three sons, which Heracles had begotten with a being who was half girl, half serpent. The youngest of these three sons was Scythes , the progenitor of the Scythians .
Kolaxes became king of the Macedonian people of the Bisalter , which is said to have led lightning bolts on their shields in memory of the origin of their king .
