from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Horajot / הוריות ( Eng . "Dispositions, instructions") is a treatise of the Mishnah in the order of Nesiqin .

The Horajot treatise deals with the handling of wrongly issued instructions, be it intentional or unintentional. Chapter I is devoted to the question of instructions issued by a rabbinical court, Chapter II examines v. a. the consequences of false instructions from the high priest . The end of the chapter prescribes various types of sacrifice for leaders and thus leads thematically to the third chapter, which examines the differences in the case of a sacrifice of sin between an anointed priest and prince or king.

The treatise closes with a consideration of the theoretical question of the order in which people's lives should be saved. The apparent order of precedence is canceled by the statement that socially outcast but learned persons are preferable to an unlearned high priest.

In all manuscripts and prints, the tract is the last tract of the Nesiqin order. He has a Tosefta and a Gemara in both Talmudim .
