Hornung & Møller

Hornung & Møller was a Danish piano manufacturer from 1827 to 1972 in Copenhagen .

The company was founded by Conrad Christian Hornung from Skælskør after a trip to Germany. In 1843 Hornung was given the title of purveyor to the Danish royal court. In 1851, Hornung's employee Hans Peter Møller took over management. The company, the largest Danish piano manufacturer, built table pianos , grand pianos and pianinos , which were often distinguished by rich decorations and precision craftsmanship. Around 50,000 instruments had been produced by the time the factory closed in 1972.
