Horst Thomas , actually Horst Johann Starkowski (born January 30, 1920 in Berlin , † after 1982) was a German actor on stage and television.

Live and act

Thomas attended Lyda Salmonova's drama school in his hometown of Berlin and in 1939 also gave his theater debut at the Deutsches Theater in the Reich capital. At the film academy, Thomas received further training from Wolfgang Liebeneiner during the Second World War, also for cinema use. In 1943 he was drafted at short notice, but was allowed to return to the stage in Baden near Vienna in 1944. After 1945 Horst Thomas took on engagements that took him to Magdeburg from 1947 to 1950 and then back to Berlin. In 1958, Horst Thomas founded his own cabaret with “Die Galgenvögel”.

At this time Thomas had already made his film debut, but after three cinema trips he stayed away from the big screen since the beginning of the 1960s and instead concentrated on television work from 1967 onwards. There he regularly played supporting roles, but with which he should hardly leave a lasting impression. Horst Thomas' work in front of the camera ended in 1982; At that time he was currently engaged at the Kleiner Theater Berlin and the Fritz-Rémond-Theater in Frankfurt am Main.
