from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Horwedja ( Horus is healed ) was a high ancient Egyptian official who served in the 26th Dynasty under King Necho II (610 to 595 BC).

He is only known from two objects. It is a fragment of a statue and a situla . Horwedja carried the title of head of the gates of the (southern) foreign countries . Horwedja was thus responsible for the southern border areas of Egypt, perhaps even for all of Upper Egypt . On his statue is a short biography: I was, who was commissioned many works on the mountain (= quarry) a ... to make ... obelisk .
