The Hosti GmbH is a manufacturer of disposable tableware . The family business is based in Pfedelbach in the Hohenlohe district .

history

The company was founded in 1949 by Emil Stickel as a Hohenloher paper plate factory in Untersöllbach, Neuenstein . In 1953 the company moved to Pfedelbach. The products have been sold under the brand name Hosti since 1979 . In 2003 the name of the company was changed to Hosti International GmbH . In 2011 the Federal Cartel Office imposed fines totaling one million euros on Hosti International and five other companies for price and customer protection agreements in the years 1999 to 2002. Hosti had acknowledged his guilt and cooperated in the investigation. The company founder Emil Stickel, who was born in Bessarabia in 1918, died on March 7, 2011. 2012 Extension of the FSC certification to 100% pure. 2014 big celebration for the 65th company anniversary.

Products

HOSTI International is the leading manufacturer of single-use cardboard tableware in Europe. At Hosti International around 2 billion paper plates and bowls are manufactured annually, which are made from up to 50% recycled material and 50% from renewable raw materials (wood fibers). The product spectrum ranges from the currywurst bowl and the party plate to party collections with serviettes, drinking cups and serving trays to pet bowls.

Companies belonging to the Hosti Group

Today the company includes the paper plate factory Oertz & Co. in Hamburg, the Zechel Pappteller GmbH with 25 employees at the Altlußheim location (January 1, 2005). In 2007 the mechanical engineering department was outsourced to ES Evo Tec GmbH as a wholly owned subsidiary of Hosti International GmbH. In 2008 a majority stake in Pfiff-Kuss GmbH & Co. KG was acquired and this was fully taken over in 2011. In 2012, Kartonwerke Eerbeek, Spankeren Netherlands, was acquired. 2014 Takeover of Tedeco-Gizeh GmbH in Offenburg and opening of a new HOSTI production facility in Hronov, Czech Republic.
