Hot chips

The Hot Chips is a conference for the semiconductor industry organized by the IEEE Computer Society and has been held in Silicon Valley every August since 1989 . Co-sponsors include the Association for Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group on Computer Architecture (SIGARCH) .

The topics discussed include innovations in chip design , computer architecture and high performance computing . The mostly three-day meeting annually attracts around 500 professional participants, journalists and scientists from all over the world. The fixed program includes two tutorials, two keynotes , a panel discussion and around 25 specialist lectures. The most frequent venue so far has been Stanford University ; in recent years the meeting has mostly taken place in Cupertino .
