The Hotel Europa was built to replace the Grand Hotel de l'Europe , which was badly damaged in the Second World War . It is a 56-meter-high hotel tower with 15 floors in the Elisabeth-Vorstadt district of Salzburg near Salzburg's main train station .

history

The building was completed in 1957. The hotel was the first high-rise in Salzburg and still towers over the buildings in the area. In the course of time there were more and more discussions about the aging building in need of renovation, which some referred to as the “blot on Salzburg”. However, the municipal council resolution from 1995 to demolish the building was not implemented. In 1999 the building was completely refurbished and provided with a simplified facade, a glazed panorama lift and a modified window arrangement.

Furnishing

The four-star hotel has 103 rooms. There is a café with a bar on the ground floor and a panorama restaurant on the 15th floor. There are three function rooms on a separate floor for events.
