The Hotel Monterey Osaka ( Japanese ホ テ ル モ ン ト レ 大阪 Hoteru Montere Ōsaka ) is a hotel of the Japanese chain Hotel Monterey Group. The structurally striking building is located in the Umeda district in the western Japanese metropolis of Osaka .

Architecture and equipment

The hotel, which stands in the midst of modern skyscrapers, but is itself held in the Rococo style, has 14 floors. At the height of the eighth floor, a copy of the 14th century St. Gudula Chapel in Aalst, Belgium is integrated into the facade; Wedding ceremonies are held in the chapel covered by a glass roof. The concept has been used repeatedly by the hotel chain; The Monterey Grasmere Osaka Hotel in the same town houses a replica of a chapel from the village of Brockhampton in Herefordshire on the 21st floor .

The interior of the building is based on the furnishings of the Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna in the entrance hall, the catering areas and some banquet rooms . The largest banquet room with a capacity of 650 people is modeled on the orangery and the greenhouse of Schönbrunn Palace.

The hotel has two restaurants ( Japanese and French ).
