The Hotel Palace Berlin is a luxury hotel in Berlin . The hotel belongs to the hotel group The Leading Hotels of the World .

The hotel, which opened in 1968, has 238 rooms and 40 suites . Karl Heinz Pepper , who built both the Europa-Center and the hotel, was inspired by the Rockefeller Center in New York and wanted to create something similar in Germany. It is one of the few luxury hotels in town that has been privately owned by the Pepper family for three generations.

The hotel is integrated into the Europa-Center and is located on Budapester Straße opposite the Zoological Garden , not far from KaDeWe , the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and Kurfürstendamm .

The hotel opened on May 28, 1968 with 188 rooms and 264 beds. The hotel had party and banquet halls, a restaurant , a grill restaurant and a cocktail bar . The builder was Karl Heinz Pepper . The shopping center with an attached hotel was built on the American model.

In 1988 the building of the former Spielbank Berlin was bought, where after the renovation the new west wing with 102 more rooms was built.

In 1993, three more floors were added to the existing six floors of the main house. The most luxurious suites in the house, such as the Royal Suite with 240 m², were created on the top floor. In 1998, salons for meetings and events were added to the first floor.

An 800 m² Palace Spa opened in 2002. In 2004 the event area was expanded to 2400 m². This created a ballroom with a ceiling height of five meters and 16 rooms for events for up to 1000 people.

The House of Gin opened in 2015 and the bar offers over 150 types of gin . In 2016/2017 all rooms and suites in the main building were renovated.
