Hotel at the seaside
The hotel by the sea in Cuxhaven - Duhnen , Cuxhavener Straße 103, is under the protection of historical monuments in Lower Saxony and is included in the list of architectural monuments in the outskirts of the city of Cuxhaven .
history
The three-storey historicizing Hotel am Meer from 1907 with the two side gable risaliten with gable tops as vases and the striking Art Nouveau facade was built according to plans by Rudolph Glocke; an example of the hotel buildings at the beginning of the 20th century. The house has been in the family ever since.
Today (2020) the refurbished building houses the aparthotel by the sea with a restaurant.
The architect Glocke designed in Cuxhaven a. a. also the residential building at Bahnhofstrasse 14, the Villa Deichstrasse 4 and the Villa Am Seedeich 5; all houses are listed.
