The Hotel d'Europe on Ulica Miodowa 17/19 existed in the 1820s in what is now Warsaw's inner city district . It is not to be confused with the much larger and more important Hotel Europejski .

The Hotel d'Europe was probably set up in parts of the Borch Palace in 1821 . At that time the palace belonged to the Kerner family. In 1830 the hotel business was stopped again. The Russian legation was temporarily housed in some rooms of the hotel . It is unclear whether the Frenchman Szymon Chovot ran the hotel. What is certain is that he managed the established and well-known restaurant there after giving up a restaurant he had previously run in the Frascati Palace . His customers came from the Polish, often rural nobility, who stopped here in large numbers, even though they often couldn't read the menu in French.

Prominent hotel guests included Walerian Skorobohaty Krasiński, Kazimierz Brodziński , Stefan Witwicki and Joachim Lelewel .

Even before the hotel and restaurant was founded, the Borch Palace was known for its delicacies. From 1800 to 1810 it belonged to the confectioner and confectionery manufacturer Ludwik Nesti, who ran a pastry shop here (presumably with an attached restaurant).
