Stefan Witwicki
Stefan Witwicki (born September 13, 1801 in Janów , Podolia , † April 15, 1847 in Rome ) was a Polish poet.
Life
Witwicki initially worked for the Polish government, but emigrated to Paris in 1832 , where he belonged to Adam Mickiewicz's circle of friends . He also had a close friendship with Frédéric Chopin , who dedicated his Four Mazurkas, Op. 41, to him.
He also wrote the lyrics to some of Chopin's songs.
