The Carinthian Tourism School (KTS for short) as a school of the state of Carinthia with public rights is located in the municipality of Villach . The KTS - Carinthian Tourism School - has been offering tourism education since 1970. The graduates of the private school of the state of Carinthia with boarding school are employees of hotel chains, on cruise ships or tour operators. Training directions

Higher Education Institute for Tourism (HLT). The HLT is a five-year vocational higher education institution, which concludes with a matriculation and diploma examination. The graduates use the professional title "Touristikkauffrau" or "Touristikkaufmann". The higher educational institution serves the acquisition of higher education with special consideration of the tourism and leisure economy. The curriculum includes training in general, practical, tourism-related and commercial subjects as well as compulsory internships as preparation for entering professional life. A compulsory internship of 32 weeks must be proven before starting the 5th year.

In addition to the specializations in international tourism management and hotel management with IT, there will be a new specialization "Tourism and Horse Management" from 2017/18 in cooperation with the LFS Stiegerhof (students register at the Carinthian tourism school, complete 5 years with the classic focus of a tourism school This includes learning foreign languages, commercial and general education subjects as well as practical training in the kitchen and service. The specialization in the field of horse management is blocked in the partner school LFS Stiegerhof with subjects such as riding and driving, horse keeping and breeding, agricultural activities such as feed production and economic success control ).

College for Tourism (TK). The two-year / four-semester college for tourism aims to prepare high school graduates for starting their careers within a short period of time. It is concluded with a diploma examination. The graduates have the professional title of "Touristikkauffrau" or "Touristikkaufmann". Admission requirement for the college for tourism is the successful completion of a general high school (maturity examination) or a vocational high school (maturity and diploma examination). Foreign applicants must be able to demonstrate a good command of German and English. The training is intended to enable the graduates to develop management qualifications and, according to relevant professional practice, to carry out high-level activities in the tourism industry and to take on management positions.

Educational hotel atrium

It serves as a boarding school and teaching hotel for the KTS students. In addition to the usual gastronomic facilities of a high-class hotel, the teaching hotel has lounges, tea kitchens, work rooms, a music room and a fitness center (consisting of fitness room, sauna, steam bath and solarium). Boarding school students - but also those external students who take part in lunch - are provided by the KTS company kitchen. As part of the subject "Company internship", the pupils are assigned to both the company kitchen and service.
