István Fejes

István Fejes , also Stefan Fejes (born August 30, 1891 in Raab , Austria-Hungary ) was a pilot of the Austro-Hungarian aviation troops in the First World War .

Fejes was drafted into the ku Landwehr Regiment 14 in 1912 and was still in the army when the war broke out. After being wounded on the Eastern Front in September 1914 and six months of convalescence, he was assigned to the kuk Kraftfahrkorps . Another year later he received flight training and in February 1917 he was assigned to the Flik 19 flying company . The company was stationed under the command of Adolf Heyrowsky at Haidenschaft on the Isonzo front .

With five wins already a so-called ace , he became the fighter pilot company in October 1917 Flik 51J assigned. He stayed there until the end of the war.

From 1928 Fejes was an instructor in the secretly established Hungarian air force , the maintenance of which Hungary was prohibited under the Treaty of Trianon . From 1930 to 1940 he was a pilot with a civil airline. During World War II he flew transport machines for the Hungarian Air Force.
