Career
Hou Jiachang was one of the most important Chinese badminton players of the 1970s. During this time there was still a strict separation between the China-related world association WBF and the much larger association IBF, so that Jiachang was almost never able to compete with the sizes of the other association. At the World Championships of the WBF in 1978 he was first in men's doubles with Yu Yaodong . In 2002 he was inducted into the Badminton Hall of Fame .
