Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment is a mounted guard regiment of the British Army .

In the course of the amalgamation of the two guard cavalry regiments , the Life Guards and the Blues and Royals , it was formed in 1992 and functions as an operational unit of the remaining formations, each with a squadron of the two regiments.

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment regularly participates in many important protocol events in Britain, such as: B. at Trooping the Color (served), and the annual opening of parliament . The regiment also provides the guard (mounted during the day) in front of Horse Guards .

The regiment is barracked in Hyde Park Barracks , Knightsbridge , about a kilometer from Buckingham Palace .
