The Howchin South Stream (English for Southern Howchin Current ) is a meltwater river on the Scott coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Denton Hills, it flows from the southern flank of Howchin Glacier in an easterly direction and south of Howchin North Stream to Howchin Lake .

The New Zealand Geographic Board named it in 1994 based on the name of the glacier that feeds it. It is named after the Australian geologist Walter Howchin (1845–1937).
