Hoyeshausen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hoyeshausen, another spelling Hyoshusen, is a desolate place north of Gudenhagen in the area of today's golf course near Brilon . The place was an old curtis and castle of the knight family Hoyeshausen

Like many other places, the place fell victim to the great desolation process in the late Middle Ages . It must have been a creeping, slow process. This began around 1300 . There are different theories about the reasons for leaving the place. The attraction of the city of Brilon was considered, for example.

The Hölsterloh is still known today, known in the Middle Ages as Hoysser Lo, a piece of forest that belonged to Hoyeshausen
