Hoykenhayn (desert)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The former forest village of Hoykenhayn is said to have been located in the forest area of the Paulinzella district of the city of Königsee in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

location

The desert lies south of the Paulinzella district in the forest. The exact location can no longer be determined.

history

The former monastery forest consisted of several forest locations and parts of land. Among other things , from the Heckenhain area . The village of Heikenhain was mentioned in 1300 . In 1312 they were called a Hoykenhayn . In 1909, Semper describes on page 89, quoted by HE Müllerott, that Hoykenhain was probably southwest of Paulinzella. There is the field name Heckenhain . Hermann von Griesheim emphasizes when paying for benefits in 1300 that he renounced Neusis and Heikenhain . The Hökenheimer Weg is mentioned in 1372 . In the town of Königsee , the Hökenheimer Weg is still used in 1372 .

Conclusion

The discrepancies in the name are of a personal nature. It's the desert place. The village must have fallen desolate in 1316 because it was near Paulinzella and was never mentioned again in the documents of the following time. Perhaps the village in Paulinzella would merge.
