Stevens recorded in 1956 for the Log Cabin Records from Nashville in Madisonville together with the Tennessee Ramblers on the single 55 Chevy / There Is No Reason . For the B-side, Stevens was supported by Berry Cagle. After that, Stevens withdrew from the music scene.
Nowadays records from this single are extremely rare and therefore worth a lot for rockabilly collectors. So far, 55 Chevy has been re-released on compilations like Mean Mean Daddy , Grand Daddy's Rockin ' , Classic Rockabilly, and True Blue Rockabilly .
