Hringurinn (Eng .: The Ring ) is an experimental documentary film by Friðrik Þór Friðriksson from 1985. The production company for the film was Íslenska Kvikmyndasamsteypan.
The camera was mounted on the car roof and the single image shutter was connected to the odometer. A picture was taken every twelve meters while driving along Iceland's Hringvegur ring road . In the film you get the impression that you are racing around the island at over 1000 km / h. The picture was taken in autumn of the previous year, when the landscape shows its most beautiful colors. The direction of travel was counterclockwise.
