Huaguang Jiao ( Chinese 華光 礁 / 华光 礁 , English Discovery Reef / Huaguang Reef ) is an atoll without an island or land area of the Xisha Islands (Paracel Islands). It belongs to the Yongle Qundao , the western archipelago of the Xisha Islands.
Various ancient Chinese shipwrecks have been discovered and excavated here recently. A famous find - Huaguang Reef No. 1 - made up of around 10,000 clay and porcelain objects came from the time of the Southern Song Dynasty .
