Huasnoantoutara

A huasnoantoutara ( trouser button ) is a traditional jewelry trouser button and belongs to the Egerland men's costume. The cast and engraved button was mostly made of brass and fire-gilded. It has an octagonal shape and is up to 5 cm tall, usually arched towards the middle, where a coiled band often encloses a central rosette. The Huasnoantoutara is a landmark of the Egerland and can be seen in the Egerland Museum. The term means something like "Hosenantuer", d. H. The Huasnoantoutara is used to attach the trousers to the so-called "harness", a cowhide braces typical of the Egerland. The word comes from the Egerland dialect ("Eghalandrisch"), which belongs to the North Bavarian dialects .
