Hubert Clerget

Hubert Clerget (born July 29, 1818 in Dijon , † March 4, 1899 in Saint-Denis ) was a French painter, etcher and lithographer.

Life

Hubert Clerget was a student of the painter Anatole Devosge (1770–1850) and the architect Claude Saint-Pére . In the Salon de Paris between 1843 and 1873 he was often present as an exhibitor with watercolors of architecture from France, Italy, Germany and Sweden. His architectural scenes and landscapes are not only represented in French museums. As a lithographer, he also designed the album Souvenirs de Jérusalem in 1862 . He also worked alongside other illustrators on the album Album du centenaire with a comprehensive collection of portraits of personalities from the French Revolution 1789–1804.
