Hugh Gwyn Owen
Hugh Gwyn Owen (born November 11, 1933 ) is a British paleontologist and geophysicist. He worked mainly at the British Museum in the mineralogy and paleontology departments, where he a. a. developed a new technique of thin sections , researched the paleontology of ammonites worldwide in some time stages of the Lower Cretaceous and consequently devoted himself intensively to the geological detection of continental drift .
His best-known work is the Atlas of Continental Displacement: 200 Million Years to the Present , in which he brought together all the facts known at the time and with which he represented a moderate form of the expansion theory of the earth.
