Hugo Duderstaedt

Hugo Duderstaedt (born July 30, 1848 in Chemnitz ; † September 30, 1909 ) was a German architect and building contractor .

Life

Duderstaedt was born the son of the businessman Johann Friedrich Duderstaedt and grew up in Chemnitz. He set up an architecture studio in the Villa Duderstaedt, his family's house at Dresdner Strasse 42. His building yard was on Lessingplatz.

He was a member of the city council and an expert and appraiser for the construction of the New Town Hall .

As an architect, Duderstaedt was a typical representative of historicism and, with some opulently furnished buildings, stylistically based himself primarily on the Renaissance and later on the Art Nouveau .
