Hugo II (Ponthieu)
Hugo II († 1052 ) was a Count of Ponthieu from the House of Ponthieu . He was a son of Count Enguerrand I von Ponthieu .
Hugo married Bertha, daughter of Guérinfrid and heiress of the Norman border castle Aumale, around 1035 while his father was still alive . Their children together were:
- Enguerrand II († 1053)
- Guido I. († 1100)
- Hugo "the noble heir of Ponthieu"
- Waleran († 1054, killed in the Battle of Mortemer )
- NN daughter, ∞ with Count Wilhelm von Arques
Hugo II strengthened his family's relationship with the neighboring Normans by marrying his eldest son to a sister of Duke Wilhelm II and his daughter to Count Wilhelm von Arques. He himself was murdered in 1052 and then buried in the Abbey of Saint-Riquier .
