Hugo of Burgundy

Hugo of Burgundy († August 31, 1037 ) was Bishop of Lausanne from 1018 to 1037 .

Life

Hugo was a son of the Burgundian King Rudolf III. He appeared in 1019 in the entourage of Emperor Heinrich II. Hugo held a synod in Montriond in 1036 , presumably to proclaim God's peace . He sponsored the construction of the cathedral of Lausanne , which began under his predecessor , in which he was buried at the side of his father.
