Hunger rake (horse rake) in action

A hunger rake or tow or horse rake is a two-wheeled agricultural device that is pulled by a draft animal or a tractor . It has semicircularly curved tines over its entire width in order to rake the grass / hay during hay harvest or the remaining stalks into swaths in harvested corn fields . In addition to the hay harvest, the drag rake can also be used for the potato or beet harvest to rake the potato straw or the beet leaves together. The implement operator sits on a seat on the hunger rake and can lift the tine basket from time to time via a pedal-operated mechanism in order to deposit the collected material.
